I’d like to put myself forward for a writing position as advertised on the site; though I’m based in the UK, I regularly keeps tabs on all manner of podcasts and news feeds and am particularly interested in the contrasts, and parallels, between the British and American film movements. More than anything though, I am just at the stage where I am preparing to leave for film school. As you would expect, my passion and vigour for film is therefore at an all-time high, with a number of projects and plans in the pipeline for the next year and far too many beliefs about what constitutes “good filmmaking”. Mistakes to be made, and I would consider it an honour to pass on my experiences to others in a similar position! Thank you in advance for your consideration, and if you need anything else please don’t hesitate to get in touch =]

I read the website slashfilm.com every single time there is a new story, analyze it all, and comment on the stories with my opinions. I have a large DVD library and try to watch at least 4 movies a week (If not more). I also attempt to make things on my own, so am very knowledgeable about low budget filmmaking and other tips.

My name is Hannah. I would like to put my name forward for the website, but, like Dan, I’m based in the UK.
I love to write, but it’s mainly prose although for the past year I’ve been working on my script writing. I’m currently aiming to be a director so that I can film my favourite books before they’re ‘raped’ as I like to call them.
As you can see, I have my own review site. It’s mainly to do with books, but I’m working on a set of film reviews for it. It’s mostly for when I find that something is so outstanding and brilliant it deserves some publicity.
To say I watch movies constantly would be an exaggeration- there are days and entire weeks (or longer) when all I do is think about and watch movies, but there are also days and weeks (or longer) when I just want to sit down and read or do nothing.
I try not to read industry news that much, mainly because I feel like I’m betraying my above desire. However, my favourite film is ‘Children of Men’, which I find to have been directed brilliantly with a matching script, in comparison to my most hated film ‘Twilight’- the direction is sloppy, the script is poor, and the characters… have slightly more chemistry onscreen than on paper.
I am currently scripting one of my favourite books- The Declaration- to be filmed next year. I’m a college student taking the IB Diploma, and as part of enrichment and CAS, I’ve been asked to screenwrite and direct an adaptation. I am currently on page 10 after working on it for nearly a week, making notes on the book’s pages and trying to imagine it onscreen.

    Thank you for your consideration.
    Yours faithfully,
    HC

Sounds good. I am an aspiring screenwriter and am taking a blue-collared approach to creating the career (whatever that is), which means that I am doing everthing I can to learn and experience the industry. All this coming school year a fellow enthusiast and I will be creating a 21 minute sketch comedy show for our college’s cable station. I can regularly post columns about my learning experiences and video shoots. Being who I am, these columns will be laced with humor. Or I can do whatever you want.
